I take pride in my living space and part of that is being selective about what hangs on my walls. It takes me FOREVER to move from inspiration to action, but I’m always so happy once I have something pretty that represents my life hanging in my home. When we moved to Seattle, I did my best to mirror some of what hung in my home in Denver. I love a neutral palette, a good gallery wall, showcasing photos from our travels, and I’m obsessed with maps. I would hang maps everywhere. Literally. It might be a little weird though. I stay mostly away from quotes because, while I’m a sucker for a quote, I think it clutters the room.

I’ll share some of what adorns the walls of my home. The gallery wall in my living room showcases a vintage map of the Puget Sound that my stepdad gave me as a Christmas gift. He’s one of the best gift-givers out there. I also framed sepia photos of the little nuggets in my family – two sweet baby girls and a wild little toddler boy. I also hung one of my favorite photos of all time, my dad and grandpa on their Harleys in the early 80’s around when I was born. I always want to think of them this way. I also hung a photo I took while traveling in Croatia of an adorable bike parked outside of a cafe. Croatia is so damn photogenic.
In my room, I’ve hung Native American art because, well, I’m Native American! The dream catchers are just dreamy! I even made one of them. Shocking because I am NOT crafty. The papoose was a gift from my Grandpa Ted, who passed away in November 2015. He gave my sister and I each a handmade papoose when we were younger. I’ve also hung my hats over my dresser. Why not turn my hat storage into wall art, right?! Then I won’t feel as bad if I don’t wear them as much as I should!

We have a smaller gallery wall in the dining room (small only because I’ve been too lazy to have more photos printed and framed). Drew had a photo of us in Arches National Park blown up and put on canvas then we found a perfect little wall hanging with a hiking quote on it while wandering around Fort Collins. That inspired me to print some photos from our hikes and outdoor adventures for a little gallery wall. There are photos from Great Sand Dunes National Park, the Columbia Gorge, the southwestern-most point of Washington, Golden, CO, and Bryce Canyon National Park. We have so many more, so I need to get a move on!
