Sundays in the Neighborhood

Don’t you just love a laid back Sunday?! It’s my favorite. We usually take our time waking up and getting out of bed. Then we either make a delicious and nutritious breakfast at home or venture to a local cafe we haven’t tried yet. In our neighborhood, literally 2 blocks away, is a Sunday market (Fremont Sunday Market) that is open every Sunday year-round! It’s a mix between a flea market and a farmer’s market. I love it! I could (and have) spend hours looking at everything! I could also spend a fortune. My favorite thing to pick up is a fresh bouquet of flowers. It’s something I LOVE about Seattle. There are flower farms galore, so the price of a gorgeous bouquet is suuuper cheap.

This Sunday, we ventured to the market first thing to pick up some flowers because I was worried they’d sell out of the $10 bouquets that are big and beautiful and full of peonies. Yes, I said it. Peonies. Isn’t this bouquet gorgeous?!

After dropping these beauties in water, we ventured up to Greenwood to Chaco Canyon Cafe. I hadn’t heard of this adorable cafe, which has multiple locations, until last week when someone suggested I pick up a Flu Buster to kick a little sinus thing I was dealing with. The fact that we loved the Flu Buster and they serve gluten-free french toast was a no brainer. The Flu Buster, by the way, is freshly made juice of orange, apple, ginger, garlic, and a dash of cayenne, made HOT! It just makes you feel better, ya know?! We ordered another at brunch along with a hemp milk latte, which I also recommend. It’s a creamier dairy free milk, if you’re looking for a comforting caffeinated treat. We were definitely pleased!

After our yummy breakfast, we soaked in the sun on a walk through the Woodland Park Rose Garden. It might not have been Drew’s first choice, but he appreciated it! Roses are the flower of June and smell so lovely! It’s the most beautiful garden just a mile up the road. So beautiful!

Obligation-free Sundays are the best!
